NOTICE OF FILING AND HEARING

 

On August 31, 2018, Monongahela Power Company (Mon Power) and The Potomac Edison Company (PE) (together, the Companies) requested that the Public Service Commission (Commission) open its annual review of Expanded Net Energy Costs (ENEC) for the period of July 1, 2016, through June 30, 2018.  The Companies request that the Commission approve a total decrease of $100,938,162.  This amount consists of $25,569,212 effective pro rata on September 1, 2018, pursuant to a Commission Order from the bench in General Order No. 236.1 adopting the settlement agreement among the parties on the impacts of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. The proposed decrease also includes an actual amount of $23,367,800 over-recovery deferred ENEC balance as of June 30, 2018, and a projected $59,719,713 over-recovery at current rates for the 2019 forecasted rate effective period. In support of the rate request, the Companies filed direct testimony from five witnesses with attached exhibits.

 

This matter is scheduled for an evidentiary hearing beginning on November 27, 2018, and continuing to November 28, 2018, if necessary.  The hearing will begin at 9:00 a.m., in the Howard M. Cunningham Hearing Room, Public Service Commission, 201 Brooks Street, Charleston, West Virginia. Interested persons may attend the hearing and make public comment.

 

Anyone desiring to petition to intervene should file a written petition within ten days following the publication of this notice. Failure to timely seek to intervene can affect your rights to participate in future proceedings. The Commission will receive written comments or protests up to the date of hearing.
