WorkForce West Virginia, a division of the Department of Commerce, announces the availability of U.S. Department of Labor National Dislocated Worker Grant Funds for 2016 Severe Storms/Flooding clean-up activities. As indicated in FEMA Declaration 4273-DR and Amendments 1-6, the West Virginia counties affected are as follows: Braxton, Clay, Fayette, Greenbrier, Jackson, Kanawha, Lewis, Lincoln, Monroe, Nicholas, Pocahontas, Randolph, Roane, Summers, Tyler, Upshur, Wayne, and Webster counties.

This notice is amended to correct the date that persons may have to file their claim.

Notice is hereby given that the above-styled matter has been filed in the Circuit Court of Wood County, West Virginia, pursuant to the West Virginia Contraband Forfeiture Act (West Virginia Code 60A-7-701, et. seq.). Any person or corporation having a claim to the hereinafter described property shall, on or before the 30th day of August, 2016 file, in writing, their claim to said property with the Clerk of said Court, which said claim must clearly state the identity of the claimant and an address where legal process can be served upon such person or corporation. A copy of said claim shall be delivered to Jason A. Wharton, Prosecuting Attorney, Counsel for Petitioners, at the Office of the Wood County Prosecuting Attorney, Judge Donald Black Annex, 317 Market Street, Parkersburg, West Virginia 26101.

Pursuant to West Virginia Code 60A-7-705 (c)(1-6), the following information is given: (1) the property seized which is the subject of the petition filed is $1,480.00 IN UNITED STATES CURRENCY; (2) the Parkersburg Police Department is responsible for the seizure; (3) the property was seized on February 10, 2016 at 1045 24th Street, Parkersburg, Wood County West Virginia; (4) the only owners of the property subject to forfeiture known to Petitioners is Daniel Eugene Bivens and Tara Cheesaman; (5) the person having possession of the seized property at the time of the seizure was Daniel Eugene Bivens and Tara Cheesaman and (6) a request to the above named Court to enter an Order directing ownership of said property in the State and the Parkersburg Police Department will be made.

Wetzel County Schools will be accepting sealed bids for resurfacing (2) tennis courts in New Martinsville, WV. Specification and information packets are available by contacting Brian Jones at (304) 455-2441 Ex. 111. There will be a mandatory Pre-Bid meeting on Thursday, August 25th, 2016, @ 10:00 am @ the Wetzel County Board of Education, 333 Foundry Street, New Martinsville, West Virginia 26155.  The bids will be opened and read on Thursday, September 1st, 2016, no later than 1:00 pm (EDST).

After the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids, no bid may be withdrawn for a period of thirty (30) days.

The Wetzel County Board of Education reserves the right to accept or reject any and/or all bids, to award the contract to other than the low bidder, to accept any or all alternates, to waive irregularities and/or formalities, and in general to make the award in any manner deemed by it, in its sole discretion to be in the best interest of the Wetzel County Schools.
