ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS
The Wirt County Board of Education will be accepting sealed bids for the upcoming Wirt County Schools Asphalt Paving and Sealing Project. A sealed bid must be hand-delivered to: Wirt County Board of Education, 389 Mulberry Street, Elizabeth, WV 26143, or mailed to Wirt County Board of Education, 189 Mulberry Street, Elizabeth, West Virginia by 11:00 AM, Friday, May 29, 2020. The required completion date for the project is Friday, July 31, 2020. Bids must be labeled “Wirt County Schools Asphalt Paving and Sealing Project”. Each company may choose to bid these projects separately or together. A bid can be submitted for either project A or project B OR for both projects together. A bid for the Asphalt paving; a bid for the asphalt sealing; or a bid for both the asphalt paving and asphalt sealing. Wirt County Schools may choose to begin completion of either or both parts of the project at the end of the bidding period. The Wirt County Board of Education reserves the right to reject or accept any or all bids.

The project specifications include the following:
Project A:
1. 2″ inch asphalt paving of Primary Center/Middle School
Bus Loop (approximately 28,000 square feet)
2. Apply an asphalt tack coat prior to paving the area
3. Clean and sweep the area
4. Reinstall bumpers
5. Stripe Lot
Project B:
1. Asphalt sealing of the Wirt County Middle School
Back Parking Lot (approximately 31,000 square feet)
2. Clean and sweep area
3. Place hot pour crack filler in cracks 1/4″ and larger
(no alligatored areas)
4. Place 2 coats of coal tar emulsion asphalt sealer
5. Restripe lot as currently is
Checklist for Bidding; includes the following:
1. Provide copy of liability insurance
2. Provide copy of WV Worker’s Compensation coverage
3. Business License
4. Drug-Free Workplace Affidavit
5. Complete W-9
6. Complete No Debt Affidavit
7. If bid is over $25,000 (bond will be required)
