PUBLIC NOTICE
The Wood-Washington-Wirt Interstate Planning Commission (WWW) is the Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) responsible for responding to federal transportation legislation requiring the development of a transportation plan for the study area. The study area includes all of Wood County, West Virginia and portions of Washington County, Ohio. The Washington County portion includes the Cities of Belpre and Marietta, as well as the Townships of Belpre, Dunham, Warren, Muskingum, Fearing, Marietta, and Newport. As required by the legislation the WWW has prepared a draft fiscally constrained long range multimodal transportation plan covering the required twenty-year planning period. The draft plan was developed in accordance with the planning provisions and factors identified in the legislation, as well as addressing local transportation deficiencies and needs. The draft document is being made available for a thirty-day public comment period in accordance with the WWW Public Participation/Involvement Plan. Following the comment period any comment received will be considered for incorporation into the final document. The document can be reviewed online at www.triplew.org or in the WWW office located at 531 Market Street, Parkersburg. In addition, two public meetings will be held to present the plan. The December 5, 2016 meeting will be held at the Washington County Public Library, 615 5th Street, Marietta Ohio. The December 6, 2016 meeting will be held in the office of the Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Council, 531 Market Street, Parkersburg, West Virginia. The meetings will be held in an âopen Houseã format where the public can review the plan and make comments at any time between 4:00-7:00 pm.
