Northwestern Landfill
Public Notice

In order to comply with the Senate Bill 18 passed by the West Virginia Legislature in October of 1991, the following dates will be those when “free disposal” will be allowed at Northwestern Landfill for the citizens of West Virginia during the 2020 calendar year.

January Saturday (01/04/20)
February Saturday (02/01/20)
March Saturday (03/07/20)
April Saturday (04/04/20)
May Saturday (05/02/20)
June Saturday (06/06/20)
July Saturday Closed 7/4 (07/11/2020)
August Saturday (08/01/20)
September Saturday (09/05/20)
October Saturday (10/03/20)
November Saturday (11/07/20)
December Saturday (12/05/20)
January 2021 Saturday (01/02/21)

Restrictions:
You must show proof of residence for the State of West Virginia. W.V. residents are allowed up to 516 pounds on one trip per scheduled day.
Any weights over 516 pounds will be charged regular gate rate and fees. Example truck weighs in at 620 pounds, the first 516 pounds will be free the other 104 pounds the customer would have to pay for. All loads must be tarped. This is for residential waste only, no commercial, construction or industrial waste customers will be allowed free disposal on these days or any days of operation. This is for residential waste only.
One trip only. No business, commercial, or industrial customers with construction debris will be included in “free day”.

We emphasize that customers bring in appliances on this day. Any appliance containing Freon will be charged an additional $50.00 for cost of removing the Freon and preparing it for recycling. Any other appliance is free.

*Hours of operation for “Free Day” are from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. Location is at Northwestern Landfill 510 E. Dry Run Road Parkersburg, WV
Just off of Rt. 50, east of the I-77 Rt. 50 interchange in Wood County.

All loads in open trucks and or trailers must be either tarped down or strapped down to keep from losing waste along our state, county, and local roadways.
