NOTICE OF APPLICATION TO CHANGE RATES

CASE NO. 19-0470-PSD-19A

On May 3, 2019, the Mineral Wells Public Service District a public utitlity, filed with the Public Service Commission of West Virginia, an application requesting increased rates and charges for furnishing sewer service to approximately 1,761 customers in Wood County.

The Staff of the Public Service Commission has reviewed the application and has recommended increased Step 1 rates and charges designed to produce approximately $86,692 annually in additional revenue, an increase of 7.94% over current rates and increased Step 2 rates and charges designed to produce approximately $44,256 annually in additional revenue, an increase of 4.05% over current rates. Step 2 rates take effect 24 months after implementing Step 1 rates.

The average monthly bill for the various classes of customers would be changed as follows:

The Commission may adopt rates and charges for Mineral Wells Public Service District which are the same as, greater than or less than the Staff-recommended rates and charges.

Anyone desiring to review the Staff recommendation report may do so on the Commission website (www.psc.state.wv.us). Anyone desiring to protest the changed rates and charges must do so, in writing, within ten (10) days of the date of publication of this notice. All protests may be filed online through the Commission website using the âSubmit a Commentã link or may be mailed to the Executive Secretary, Public Service Commission of West Virginia, P.O. Box 812, Charleston, West Virginia 25323 or hand-delivered to the Public Service Commission. To help the Commission determine the justification for additional review and investigation, protests must be specific as to reasons that the changed rates and charges should be modified. In addition, anyone desiring a hearing in this matter must demand a hearing in the written protest.

If no hearing is demanded, the Commission may affirm the proposed rates without a hearing.
