AIR QUALITY PERMIT NOTICE
Notice of Application
Notice is given that Chemours Washington Works has applied to the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Air Quality, for a Construction Permit, for the installation of three (3) Gas-fired Steam boilers located at Chemours Washington Works at 8480 DuPont Road in Washington Bottom near Parkersburg in Wood County, West Virginia. The latitude and longitude coordinates are: 39.270181 N and -81.670117 W.
The applicant estimates the following changes in the potential to discharge the following Regulated Air Pollutants will be: Particulate Matter less than 10 microns [-32.5 tons/year], Particulate Matter less than 2.5 microns [-13.9 tons/year], Sulfur Dioxide [-2836.64 tons/year], Volatile Organic Compounds [+16.168 tons/year], Nitrous Oxides [-440.77 tons year], Carbon Monoxide [+13.534 tons/year], Lead [-0.026 tons/year], Fluorides [-8.9 tons/year], Sulfuric Acid [-76.12 tons/year] Formaldehyde [+0.241 tons/year], Benzene [-0.052 tons/year], Hexane [+1.59 tons/year] and Total Hazardous Air Pollutants (HAPs) [-222.07 tons/year]
Startup of operation is planned to begin on or about the 30th day of December, 2020. Written comments will be received by the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Air Quality, 601 57th Street, SE, Charleston, WV 25304, for at least 30 calendar days from the date of publication of this notice.
