AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SUBSECTION (10), ANNUAL PHYSICAL INVENTORY, OF SECTION 4.301, CHAPTER 3, DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE, OF THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF PARKERSBURG

 

Whereas it is desired that Subsection (10) of Section 4.301 of the City Charter have more specificity in relation to the timing of the annual physical inventory; and

 

Whereas it is desired that said annual physical inventoryás timeline mirror that of Section 5,104(1), Capital Program.

 

Now Therefore Be It Ordained By The Council Of The City Of Parkersburg that Subsection (10), Section 4.301, Chapter 3, Department of Finance be and it is hereby amended as follows:

 

Article IV, Chapter 3, Section 4.301(10):

 

Conduct or provide for the conduct of a complete and accurate annual physical inventory of all City owned equipment of the initial purchase price of $500.00 or more; provided however, that Council may by ordinance provide for the increase or decrease of the purchase value amount herein specified. Said inventory shall be completed and submitted to the Council at least three months prior to the final date for submission of the budget for the ensuing fiscal year.

The amended portion is limited to the last line of the above and relates solely to submission to the Council.

 

Notice of Public Hearing:

 

The Parkersburg City Council will hold a public hearing concerning the above proposed Ordinance amending the City Charter on Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at 7:30pm in City Council Chambers, 2nd Floor, Parkersburg Municipal Building, 1 Government Square, Parkersburg, West Virginia at which time the proposed amendment will be considered. Any qualified voter or any freeholder of the City may appear, and file objections, in writing. If no objections are filed the proposed amendment shall become operative on May 14, 2018.
