NOTICE OF PROPOSED CONVEYANCE
OF UNITED METHODIST CHURCH PROPERTY
(Ford Chapel United
Methodist Church)
Notice is hereby given that the Board of Trustees of the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church will, on or after October 18, 2017 QUITCLAIM, GRANT and CONVEY to DAVID B. VANCE, II, all of their right, title and interest, in and to the following lots, tracts or parcels of land, situate in Harris District, Wood County, West Virginia, and being more particularly described as follows:
TRACT ONE:
Beginning at a stone in the Public road; thence North 78-1/4 West 4 poles to a stone; thence South 77 West 10 poles to a stone; thence South 10-1/2 West 4-1/2 poles to a stone; thence South 61 East 13 _ to a stone; thence North 11-1/4 East 12 poles to place of beginning containing Two Third Acres more or less.
And being the same property conveyed from Grant Smith and Maggie Smith, his wife to The Trustees of Ford M. E. Church by Deed dated the 20th day of February, 1915 and of record in the Office of the Clerk of the County Commission of Wood County, West Virginia in Deed Book 165, at page 19.
TRACT TWO:
BEGINNING at a point in the center of Pond Creek Road said point being the northeasterly corner of Ford M.E. Church tract as described in Deed Book 165 on Page 19, thence leaving said road and with three lines of said tract as follows: N86 54 20W 66.78 feet to a point, thence S75 25 22W 165 feet to a point, thence S10 38 50W 38.86 feet to a 1/2-inch iron rebar set at a fence corner, thence leaving said church tract N52 21 09W 61.38 feet to a 1/2-inch iron rebar set at a fence corner, thence N22 27 25E 9.81 feet to a 1/2-inch iron rebar set, fence with the southerly edge of a stone roadway three courses and distances as follows: N80 18 35E 58.71 feet to a 1/2-inch iron rebar set, thence N78 17 33E 151.67 to a 1/2-inch iron rebar set, thence N83 48 36E 76.76 feet passing a railroad spike set at 61.76 feet to a point in the center of Pond Creek Road, thence with the center of said road S12 28 54W 19.84 feet to the beginning, containing 0.11 acre more or less, as shown and depicted on a plat, dated December 13, 2000, prepared by Scott F. Stewart, P.L.S., to which said reference is here made and made a part hereof for a more particular description of the property herein conveyed.
And being the same property conveyed from Paul E. Smith and Sarah C. Smith to The Trustees of the Ford Chapel United Methodist Church by Deed dated the 9th day of August, 2001 and of record in the aforesaid Clerk’s Office in Deed Book 1035, at page 98.
Said Ford Chapel United Methodist Church having been discontinued by the regular 2016 session of the West Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church.
